There are few techniques, in lamp working today, as widely popular as the "Disk Flip" style. Seen utilized in countless different applications on both functional and non functional bodies of work, the most easily recognizable is the fillacello pattern.

Kevin Murray is a modern master of the disk flip technique and can produce more different styles of these designs than almost any other artist today.

Recently Kevin has embarked on a mission of epic heady proportions, combining as many different disk flip styles as possible on a functional piece. This series of work features bold vibrant color combinations, incredibly intricate technique, and classic functionality. We were pleased to work with Kevin to release the first ever of this series in late 2015 and we have recently received some more of these gems!

These stunning mini tubes feature a removable three hole downstem and come equipped with either a 14/10mm low profile diffuser and 10mm slide or a 14/14mm diffuser and dome. The 10mm filla slides are a gallery favorite of ours and we love the low profile downstem for a quartz banger as well!

Time consuming, painstaking in detail, and technically difficult every step of the way, the disk flip is a true test of any artists dexterity. One wrong move and and the whole section can be lost, even after hours of work are invested. This is one reason why many artists choose to take a successful flip section and create a single pendant showcasing their success. The risk of assembling these separate sections into a fully worked filla tube is amplified throughout the process and the finished product is understandably more rare due to this reality.
